Fushimi Inari Taisha (Shrine)
No trip to Kyoto is complete without a visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha, an important and famous Shinto shrine. The sacred place is over a thousand years old and the most significant of thousands of shrines throughout the country dedicated to Inari, a Shinto deity. Because foxes are believed to be the messengers of Inari, there are many fox statues around the shrine. Fushimi Inari has become a popular place for foreign tourists due to its seemingly never-ending passageways of bright red-orange torii gates. The iconic torii gates have made the shrine a popular place for Instagrammers as well as worshippers.
沒到首屈一指又知名的伏見稻荷大社參拜過，就不算來過京都。這個已有一千多年歷史、供奉稻荷神這尊神道之神的聖地，是全日本數千座神社中最重要的一座。因為狐狸被認為是稻荷神的使者，所以神社周圍有許許多多狐狸的雕像。更因其看似永無止境的亮紅橘色鳥居通道，伏見稻荷大社已經成為外國遊客的熱門景點。這個具指標性的牌坊大門使該神社成為 Instagram 使用者和朝聖者的熱門打卡景點。
